Turkey - Tons of watermelons damaged in Mus due to hailstorm

Watermelons in a production field of 3 million square feet have been damaged due to a 5 hour long hailstorm in Mus, a city located in southeastern Turkey. A majority of the people in the area earn their living through watermelon production and nearly 30 growers have sustained damages to their products. City officials continue to get an estimate of the damage but they predict that it will be around 40,000 USD. The growers are asking for state assistance to recover their losses.
