The Minister of Agriculture reported on the problems in the field of ​​crop production and informed on the damage inflicted to the republican agro-industrial complex by the abnormally low temperatures.  On February 20 in Makhachkala the Government of the Republic of Dagestan gathered to a working session attended by the first deputy Prime Minister RD Nizami Kaziyev, the vice premiers of the Government RD Antonina Idrisova, Murat Shikhsaidov, the heads of ministries and departments of the republic, the territorial divisions of the federal executive bodies.

The meeting addressed issues related to preparation for the spring field work in 2012 and the situation with abnormally low temperatures in the republic. Besides, the top officials discussed issues of the upcoming meeting and the agenda of the regular session of the Legislative Assembly RD scheduled for February 22.

The Minister of Agriculture RD Satmar Amirov reported on the problems in the field of ​​crop production and informed on the damage inflicted to the republican agro-industrial complex by the abnormally low temperatures. Amirov said in the period from February 5 to February 11, 2012 the republican agricultural sector suffered extensive damage from the  abnormally low temperature. The serious damage was inflicted to the winter crops, vineyards, fruit and vegetable trees, perennial grass. Taking into consideration the prevailing abnormal weather conditions, all the necessary changes to the course of preparation and holding the spring field agricultural works will be taken in 2012. The specialists of the Agriculture Ministry RD will render assistance in the regions most affected by the frosts.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture RD and the Committee on Viticulture and Alcohol Market Regulation RD have been instructed to accelerate the preparation of supporting documents to determine the amount of damages jointly with the administrations of municipalities.
