Insurance company insured about 1000 hectares of canola last autumn. The crops were in good condition. The crop was seeded during the last week of August and developed sufficiently to survive regular winter. In spring the crop was found perished due to dry autumn and low temperatures in winter.
The farm used seeds from Monsanto and German supplier. Interesting that Monsanto canola survived winter and the crop standing was reduced at about 20% which is acceptable. Crop from German seeds did not stand low temperatures and plants survived only closer to tree lines around fields.
At the present time the insurer and the farmer collect papers necessary for payout.
