Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed the officials to compensate farmers for the loss of their crop due to rainfall and hailstorm. Chairing a review meeting, Yogi instructed officials to conduct relief works and assess the loss incurred by the farmers.
He said the relief department officals should visit the hailstorm-affected areas, monitor relief work and help affected people immediately. A state government spokesperson said the revenue department had issued an order to continuously assess damage to crops.
He said the state government had allocated over Rs 535 crore under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to farmers who have suffered crop loss due to floods in the financial year 2021-22. The move benefitted over 15 lakh farmers.
