"The economic impact of Eta in Honduras is already visible: banana crops, which are the main source of income for many people, have been severely affected. This threatens the livelihoods of many communities in the country," the International Red Cross told EFE news agency. According to estimates, Honduras has lost about 35 million boxes of bananas, which will considerably reduce their supply at a time that was becoming complicated for the sector, as European supermarkets, such as Aldi, had proposed lowering the price they pay for the product.
