The largest pepper and tomato-growing garden in Central Europe is to be built between Hegyeshalom and Bezenye, following a one-billion Euro investment. It will provide jobs for about five thousand people.
István Nagy, Minister for Agriculture stressed that this development will help Hungary deliver large quantities of quality export goods grown in the most modern greenhouses.
“In addition to the greenhouse project, it is equally important for us to gain processing and logistics capacity in order to give the export of Hungarian agricultural and horticultural products a boost,” said István Nagy.
With the investment, the value of domestic agricultural exports is expected to reach € 10 billion within a few years, and Hungary’s market presence in Europe and around the world may also further increase.
