Early Registration option has been valid till November 20, 2012. More than 30 delegates successfully used the provided possibility to register early for the Conference. The delegates represent such countries: Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland and Ghana. More applications are coming in under the Standard Application option.
The map of cumulative precipitations from mid-June to mid-July 2012 shows different conditions over Ukraine. The level of precipitation at Western and Northern parts of the country is close to the normal conditions (from 45mm). In comparison, South and East of Ukraine during the same period had a very a few precipitations (sometimes below 8mm).

The information on the speakers has been updated at the Conference official web page. More speakers and topics would be added in the nearest weeks and announced in a separate press-release. Currently, the Conference Management continues accepting and approving requests for presentations from speakers representing insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as state regulatory authorities of the CIS, Europe and Asia.
Throughout spring-summer 2011, the insurance companies signed 1,981 crop insurance contracts (750 contracts in 2010). Our database does not distinguish between the types of contracts for spring-autumn as these contracts were less standardised than the contracts providing coverage for the winter season. Normally, the insurers allowed producers to select a limited coverage (i.e. selected perils). This reduces the cost of insurance, especially if the client wishes to insure only against some predetermined risks.
Hail damaged crops in Cherkassy oblast on July 3 and 13, 2009. Corn got significant damage however forage corn was less affected. According to insurance experts, the farmers will see 10-15% of yield drop, in the worst case damage will reach 20%. Stil the farmers were lucky as cobs were formed and the plants continue caring for grain.
The most important factor of efficient feed production is reliable supply of feedstock, including forage grain and oilseed mill, especially soybean mill. Sustainable yield of grains and oilseeds in recent years created favorable conditions for compound feed production. Simultaneously, one has to admit that such dependence on forage grain to a large extent determines trends not only in the animal husbandry sector but also has an adequate impact on selling prices of animal husbandry products. For instance, high prices for forage grain in 2003/04 MY because of an extremely low harvest in 2003.
The presentation was prepared for the meeting of the agricultural committee of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine. The meeting took place on February 6, 2007. The presentation provides an overview of statistics available in different countries and takes a closer view at problems of Ukrainian agricultural insurance sector. The presentation will be interesting to the insurance specialists from the countries that currently develop agricultural insurance systems.
