Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel has said that his government is determined to double the income of farmers. There will be no discrimination or discrimination of any kind in benefiting the farmers. The government has launched the Mukhya Mantri Crop Procurement Scheme to benefit the farmers. He was replying to the discussion of Budget in the State Assembly on Monday. Later, the State Assembly of Monday has passed a total budget of over Rs 15000 crore for the welfare of farmers and agricultural development in the agricultural budget. He further said that more and more farmers should be benefited from the insurance scheme, for this, the portal was opened at a central level and the farmers were insured. Patel informed the House that an amount of Rs 8,891 crore has been transferred to the account of 43 lakh farmers. For the first time in the state's agriculture budget for the year 2021-22, the Chief Minister Farmer Crop Acquisition Assistance Scheme was launched to provide a reasonable price for the crops of the farmers. A provision of Rs 2000 crores has been made for this scheme. The government has resumed the scheme of providing crop loans to farmers through cooperative banks at zero percent interest rate. He said that this year, production of about 80 lakh metric tons is estimated to be about 55 lakh metric tons of gram, 5 lakh metric tons of lentils and 1.5 lakh metric tons of mustard. Agriculture Minister Patel informed that work is being done by the government to create a new Chief Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to benefit every farmer of the state from crop insurance scheme.
