The latest payments will be deposited into beneficiaries’ accounts immediately, as authorities say compensation claims for last year’s agricultural damage are being settled faster than ever before.

Agricultural producers affected by crop and livestock losses in 2025 are set to receive a new round of compensation totaling €24 million, according to an announcement by Greece’s agricultural insurance organization.

The payments were announced on May 27, 2026, by the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Margaritis Schinas, in cooperation with the organization’s president, Andreas T. Lykourentzos.

According to the announcement, the compensation funds will be credited to the bank accounts of eligible insured farmers within the day, providing immediate financial support to those impacted by last year’s damages.

The organization stated that it is close to completing the settlement of compensation claims related to losses recorded in 2025, earlier than in any previous year. Officials attributed the accelerated timeline to improvements in administrative procedures and faster processing of claims.

To date, the organization has already paid €244 million in compensation for damages suffered during 2025. The latest €24 million payment forms part of the ongoing effort to support insured farmers and livestock producers affected by adverse events during the year.

Authorities said the payments reflect the organization’s commitment to maintaining consistent and timely support for the agricultural sector.
