To date, 186,000 manats of insurance compensation have been paid to farmers and farms in the tobacco industry in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Agrarian Insurance Fund that compensation payments were made in Balaken, Gakh, Shaki and Zagatala districts for damage caused by hail, hurricane and floods in tobacco fields.
It is noted that the insurance of tobacco crops begins in April and lasts until the end of May. Timely crop insurance allows protecting it from various risks, including heavy rains typical for May.
