The Director of Agriculture in the Municipality of Suhareka, Armend Krasniqi, said that based on initial estimates, the damages from the storm that hit this municipality on Tuesday are in the millions. 

He said that livestock stables and greenhouses were mostly destroyed.

"Mainly, the vegetable crop has been hit, where the greenhouse sector is part of it, it has been hit the most, as well as the stables sector. Upon receiving information, we have gone out into the field and verified several cases of farmers who have suffered major losses," Krasniqi said in an interview on the "60 Minutes" show on KTV.

He said he believes that the damages, which he estimates are in the millions, will be compensated by the Ministry of Agriculture. 

"We verify all the damages, we send those forms to the Municipal Assembly, where we verify the amount of damages for all farmers and we send these damages to the Ministry and the Ministry must take urgent measures to help the farmers," said Krasniqi.

On Wednesday, the mayor of Suhareka, Bali Muharremaj, said that they are unable to help citizens for the damages caused by the storm yesterday because, according to him, the municipalities have no longer had an emergency fund in the last five years. 

He said that they went to the field to assess the damage, a report which will then be approved by the Municipal Assembly and sent to the Government commission. 

In a live broadcast on KTV's "tre8tre" show, Muharremaj said that it is fortunate that there were no human casualties, but the material damage is great.
