Nepal - Sunsari Citizens Receive NPR 2.3 Million in Relief from Wildlife Damage

Relief amount of NPR 2,314,605 has been distributed to citizens here suffering from wild animals.

The amount has been provided to the locals living around Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve who have suffered various damages from different wild animals. Reserve official Ankit Poudel informed that wild animals caused the most damage in the month of Ashwin.

Relief of NPR 1,238,605 was distributed in the month of Ashwin. NPR 8,605 for minor injuries from wild animal attacks, NPR 12,000 for damage to stored grains, NPR 26,000 for damage to houses and sheds, NPR 1,192,000 for crop damage, and NPR 1,000,000 for human death in Baishakh.

In Baishakh, one person died due to a wild animal attack, and a relief amount of NPR 1,000,000 was distributed to the victim's family for the death.

In Kartik, NPR 24,500 for crop damage, NPR 14,000 for damage to houses and sheds in Falgun, and NPR 37,500 for crop damage, totaling NPR 51,500 in relief was distributed.
