Figures on agricultural losses from major bushfires this fire season at Scotsburn, Barnawartha and Lancefield show that farms have suffered significant damage. Some farmers have lost thousands of dollars in equipment, livestock and future earnings. Almost 4700 livestock (mostly sheep) were killed, 590 kilometres of farm fences and 99 sheds were destroyed and seven hectares of orchard plantings or grapes burnt.
