Armenia - Prime Minister chairs consultation on agricultural insurance

A consultation led by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was held to discuss issues related to agricultural insurance.

According to the Prime Minister's office, sector officials presented the current problems and challenges in maintaining rural insurance, proposing solutions to address them.

The consultation emphasized the importance of introducing new standards for damage assessment, the training and qualification of experts in the field. Additionally, the need to implement statistical infrastructures and ensuring trust in the system was highlighted to support a developed rural insurance framework.

Summarizing the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the implementation of concrete and effective activities aimed at the development of the sector.

According to the Prime Minister, the insurance system must clearly support the development of agriculture. Pashinyan reiterated that, to manage the sector effectively, decision-makers should engage directly with beneficiaries and understand the issues firsthand.

The Prime Minister instructed officials to work consistently on the issues raised, considering the problems and recommendations presented during the consultation.
