China - Fujian Pinghe honey pomelo production reduced by about 10%-15%

Recently, Mr. Lai from Fujian Xiangxinglong Fruit and Vegetable Co., Ltd. shared his views with FreshPlaza on the market situation of Fujian honey pomelo this year.

According to him, “Influenced by the climate in February and March this year, the fruit-bearing rate of pomelo this year is low, resulting in more large pomelo fruits and fewer small fruits. It is estimated that the overall production reduction this year will be around 10%-15%. This also causes the starting price of this year’s pomelo to be relatively high.”

Thanks to the unique geographical environment of Pinghe, Fujian, the pomelo produced in this area is of good quality and has been recognized by domestic and foreign consumers. Therefore, although affected by the production reduction, the current export volume is not less than in the same period in previous years.
