The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chisinau presented the new Cooperation Program for Development with the Republic of Moldova, valid until the year 2030. The program represents a continuation of the support offered by the Czech Republic for the sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova, being in line with the National Development Strategy “European Moldova 2030” and the path towards joining the European Union, as reported by IPN.

The document is structured around three priorities: good governance and resilient institutions, inclusive social development, as well as sustainable agriculture and rural development.

“This program is more than just a technical document. It is an expression of solidarity and shared values between the Czech Republic and Moldova. We are honored to accompany Moldova on its path to European integration, offering support based on our firsthand experience in the process of joining the EU,” declared the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Moldova, Jaromír Plišek, at the program presentation event.

Under the previous cooperation program, the Czech Republic supported the Republic of Moldova in creating the National Register of Vineyards and Wine, supported the development of organic agriculture, and strengthened agricultural cooperatives. In the social sector, support was provided for the development of the first law on autism and the creation of specialized services for children with autism. A highlighted success is the implementation of the HomeCare Moldova home care model, as well as the remediation works for historical pollution in the Lunga and Mărculești areas.

A special emphasis has also been placed on humanitarian projects carried out in the context of the refugee crisis and energy instability. “These achievements demonstrate the tangible impact of Czech-Moldovan cooperation on the quality of life of citizens,” reads a press release from the diplomatic mission.
