In 2026, the budget of the state agroinsurance program amounts to 17 million GEL, which is 2 million GEL more compared to the previous year. Within the framework of the program, the state will finance 70% of the insurance policy premium for each insured person, which applies to all crops included in the program.

According to the program conditions, the beneficiary has the opportunity to insure a maximum of 20 hectares of land, and in the case of grain crops – up to 100 hectares. This limitation does not apply to agricultural cooperatives.

Additional support is provided for agricultural land located in villages adjacent to the dividing line; in this case, the share of the insurance premium financed by the agency increases by an additional 5%.

The agroinsurance program covers major natural risks, including: hail, flood, storm, and autumn frost. At the same time, the risk of autumn frost applies only to citrus crops, within the period from September 1 to November 30 inclusive.

The state agroinsurance program has been successfully implemented for more than ten years and provides farmers with the opportunity to protect their harvest from natural events.

From 2014 to the present, within the framework of the program: more than 194,000 insurance policies have been issued to 72,703 beneficiaries; the total amount of compensated damage has exceeded 92 million GEL.

The purchase of an insurance policy is possible in the following insurance companies operating in Georgia: Aldagi, Alfa, TBC Insurance, and New Vision Insurance.
