The task force assigned to inspect the crop damage due to the drought has completed its inspection in the state. The report prepared by the team will be forwarded to the Agriculture Minister within two days.
As per a preliminary estimate, crops worth Rs 110 crore have been damaged in the last two months due to soaring temperatures.
Meanwhile, further information on the total loss incurred due to crop damage can be ascertained only after receiving detailed reports.
The government plans to seek assistance from the Centre after determining the loss and crop damage. As a result of the depletion of multiple irrigation sources, significant harm has been inflicted upon major crops, including rice, bananas, vegetables, pepper, coffee, cocoa, cardamom, and more.
