The Ministry of Agriculture is considering introducing a 6-month restriction on the import of chicken eggs into Kyrgyzstan.

The measure is aimed at supporting domestic producers. The Ministry of Agriculture assumes that a temporary ban on imports will increase the volume of domestic production.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the volume of imports has decreased to 1.8 million eggs over the past three months, while exports reached 8.8 million eggs.

According to the National Statistics Committee, 125 million poultry eggs were imported to Kyrgyzstan in 2024, which is 46% lower than in 2023.

Domestic production amounted to 790.3 million eggs, or 15.2% higher than in 2023.
