Bago Region Government held the 2026 monsoon season agricultural input loan disbursement ceremony under the 100-Day Plan on the morning of May 12 at Bago City Hall.

At the ceremony, Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win highlighted that the increased loans for agricultural inputs and farm machinery are part of the Union Government’s 100-Day Plan to achieve quick and positive results in the agricultural sector. These loans aim to support farmers in transitioning from traditional manual farming to mechanized agriculture.

Following the opening remarks, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, the Speaker of the Bago Region Hluttaw, and other officials distributed loans directly to the farmers. U Aye Thein, Manager of the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank (Bago Region), and Daw Nyo Nyo Min, Regional Head of the Myanmar Crop Insurance Program, also provided guidance on agricultural input loans and crop insurance based on seasonal forecasts.

For the 2026–2027 fiscal year, Bago Region Government plans to provide monsoon season agricultural input loans to 171,714 farmers covering 1,079,549 acres, totaling 323.535 billion kyats. Under the 100-Day Plan, loans totaling 167.668 billion kyats have already been disbursed to 78,935 farmers cultivating 558,896 acres.

This initiative demonstrates the region’s commitment to supporting farmers, promoting mechanized farming, and ensuring agricultural productivity during the monsoon season.
