Agricultural insurance in Catalonia approaches 1.800 million insured in 2025 and Agroseguro expects lower claims and more contracts in 2026.
Agricultural insurance has come very close to 1.8 billion euros of insured capital in Catalonia in 2025, the "highest" recorded so far, with an implementation of over 80% in livestock policies and above 90% in crops such as fruit trees, herbaceous plants, or vineyards, according to Agroseguro this Thursday in a statement.
Regarding claims, the entity estimates that the 2026 fiscal year will end with more moderate levels than those recorded in previous campaigns after "droughts, frosts, or hailstorms of unprecedented magnitudes," which has allowed for greater speed in assessing damages and in the payment of compensations.
Agroseguro has also highlighted the contracting data for 2026, which has increased by 2% so far, in addition to a clear trend to advance the signing of policies to have coverage against the claims that occur at the beginning of the campaign.
