Spain - The Board will sign an agreement with Enesa to share data in the management and control of aid for agricultural insurance

The Governing Council of the Junta de Extremadura has given the green light to the subscription of an administrative cooperation agreement between the regional administration and the State Agricultural Insurance Entity (Enesa), with the aim of facilitating the exchange of information for the management and supervision of subsidies for agricultural insurance contracts.

As the Junta recalls in a press release, the State holds the powers in matters of agricultural insurance and the state aid linked to them, with Enesa being responsible for their coordination and management. For its part, the autonomous community has its own powers in the agricultural field and handles key data on farmers and ranchers, mainly through various administrative registers.

The regulations governing subsidies for agricultural insurance expressly establish the obligation of collaboration between administrations, so that Enesa can request information from other public bodies and formalize agreements with them to verify compliance with the conditions required to access aid.

This cooperation framework also makes it possible to avoid duplication and unnecessary procedures for citizens, while improving the quality and reliability of the data used, strengthening public spending control mechanisms, and guaranteeing the continuity of public policies aimed at supporting the agricultural sector.

The agreement will have an initial term of four years and may be extended, if both parties unanimously agree, for an additional period of four years. This aims to organize and systematize the flow of information between the two administrations, providing this exchange with stability and a defined periodicity.
