The Generalitat reinforces the Agricultural Insurance Plan 2026 with almost 29 million and greater subsidies to lower the premiums against climate risks.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing, and Food of the Generalitat has launched new aid linked to the lines of the Agricultural Insurance Plan 2026, in order to promote the contracting of agricultural and livestock policies and protect farms against risks arising from weather conditions, as reported this Wednesday in a statement.
The first of the provisions of this call, published this Tuesday, has a budget of 20 million euros and includes subsidies for the policies that are subscribed and come into effect until December 31, 2026.
Likewise, during the month of October of this year, the publication of a second resolution for the policies of Plan 2026 that begin to apply after December 31, 2026, is planned.
To these 20,000,000 euros, an additional 8,990,000 euros already called for under the anticipated budget of 2026 is added, intended to cover part of the aid corresponding to Plan 2025.
In this way, public support for the contracting of agricultural insurance reaches for the fiscal year 2026 an amount close to 29 million euros, a figure that may increase according to what is provided in the call itself.
Main novelties of Plan 2026
Plan 2026 introduces relevant modifications in the intensity of the aid, particularly for the policies contracted by AP, EAP, and JA, raising the maximum subsidy limits in order to significantly reduce the cost of agricultural insurance.
Among the improvements is the increase in the subsidy percentages in the agricultural and livestock lines, which go from the range of 24-57% of Plan 2025 to 75% in this new plan for AP, EAP, and youth, and to 60% for the rest of the insured.
The aid system has also been simplified, establishing a higher general percentage and creating a specific budget item, financed by the Agricultural Livestock Fund, intended for the policies of AP/EAP/JA, endowed with 15 million euros.
