USA - Aon and SAGE launch precision crop insurance program

29.10.2026 23 views

Aon and agricultural risk intelligence company SAGE have announced a crop insurance program with AgriCap, targeting corn and soybean growers in 15 states for the 2027 crop year.

The program will complement federal crop insurance by using field-level data to better match coverage and pricing to individual risks. SAGE’s AI models combine soil, water, weather and farming activity data, while Aon provides insurance structuring, analytics and access to supporting capital.

The approach is being tested through a four-county Michigan pilot developed by the Resilience in Agricultural Lending and Insurance Coalition, with partial funding from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The pilot encompasses more than one million agricultural acres, representing approximately 12% of Michigan farmland.
