USA - Western Mass. farm suffered 100% crop loss as a result of summer flooding

On July 10, 2023, Vermont felt the brunt of the flood's wrath. Massachusetts wasn't spared, either. Farms in the western part of the state got hit hard. Natural Roots is a 7.5-acre organic farm in the town of Conway, Massachusetts. Dealing with 100% crop loss is a catastrophe for any farm, especially at the height of summer, says farmer Magdalena Toran.

Organizations, including CISA, are working to alleviate the farms' financial losses. CISA has been spearheading fundraising efforts with other nonprofits, businesses, and locals.
