On Sunday night through Monday, heavy rain caused flooding in Southern France. Around the town of Carcassonne in the department of Aude, the water became very high. The south of France is an important region for the fruit and vegetable production. A spokesperson of Les Serres de Capestang says consequences for growers in the region are considerable. “Most of the damage is suffered in the Trèbes region. A lot of vegetable production areas, apple orchards and vineyards are flooded. A lot of material is damaged as well, and roads are impassable for now.
