There is no alternative to the introduction of the agricultural insurance system in Armenia, Armenian Deputy Agriculture Minister Garnik Petrosyan told reporters on Wednesday.
“This is a very important and serious issue. But this system cannot be introduced within one or two years,” Petrosyan said, noting that actions are being taken and serious studies are being conducted at the current stage.
According to the Deputy Minister, the first pilot project will be implemented in the livestock farming sector, then in the crop sector, which faces more risks. “Our first action should be to mitigate these risks,” he noted.
