Rains in Kota division of Rajasthan for the last two days have caused huge damage to the kharif crop. Twelve out of the four districts of the division are expected to be affected due to two days of rain. The farmers want the state government to assess the crop loss and give compensation.

Kharif season soybean, paddy and amla crops were heavily damaged due to rains in the last two days after the monsoon passed in the division, while soybean crops and fields were harvested in most of the rural areas of the division. May padi hai when the paddy crop is ready for harvesting. Apart from these two major crops in Kharif from this monsoon, the pulse crop Urad also suffers heavy losses.

Rakesh Chaudhary Guddu, a progressive farmer of Hati Dilod village of Mothpur sub-district in Baran district’s Ataru region, said that due to this rain, the soybean crop in the fields could be extensively damaged. Farmers are getting ready to harvest crops through threshing machines. In such a situation, due to the rains of the last two days, the dry soybean lying in the fields got wet and now the dried beans and their seeds burst before being picked up from the machine.

Rakesh Chaudhary Guddu also said that most parts of Baran district have received slow to moderate rains for the past two days, which not only caused damage but also damaged the paddy crop due to rain and strong winds. The paddy was ready for a harvest in five-seven days, but now the standing crop has fallen due to strong winds. Apart from this, there is widespread loss in the pulses crop because in parched fields, due to rain and strong winds, the expected pods break and scatter on the ground and wherever these conditions occur, it is a huge loss to the farmers, who have to grow it.

Heavy rains have lashed several parts of the division’s four districts of Kota, Bandi, Baran and Jhalawar this time with the extra grace of monsoons before the end of the Kharif farming season. Apart from this, as it has been raining for two days today, in the next two days there will be moderate to heavy rains in many places in the four districts of Kota Division and the concern of the farmers has increased.

Meanwhile, Hadoti Kisan Union lamented that the recent heavy rains have caused huge damage to paddy crops in 1.15 lakh hectares and soybean crops in six to seven lakh hectares in Kharif agriculture sector, but this administrative bug has not been assessed yet. level

Dasharath Kumar, general secretary of Kisan Union, said that the state government should order the district collectors to conduct an early survey on the damage caused by heavy rains in all the districts of Kota division. He suggested that the personnel coming for the damage survey should also go to the affected farmers’ fields so that the actual damage can be estimated based on the condition of the farmers and the way they interact with the farmers. Generally, the farmers are not getting any compensation for the actual loss due to the officials sitting in the office and supplying the paper.

Dasharathkumar demanded that at least Rs 30,000 per hectare for soybean and Rs 70,000 to one lakh per hectare for paddy should be assessed at the land level and compensation should be given to the farmers. Although this amount is less than the compensation, if this compensation is received, the farmers will get partial relief.
