DRIISHYA (Drone Imaging and Information Service of Haryana Ltd), a government owned entity, provides the state government with innovative, adaptable, and cost effective drone-based geographical information solutions.

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal stated that the Centre has underlined the importance of using drones and capturing photographs to assess crop production and crop loss due to inclement weather, so that farmers can be compensated properly.

DRIISHYA would provide drone pilot training to the state’s young, resulting in job prospects, said the Chief Secretary. He also stated that the state government is deploying drones to combat illegal mining and ensure sustainable mining practices in the state.

Drones have been used by the state government to monitor and prevent stubble burning. With this step, the number of occurrences of stubble-burning has decreased by 47% compared to the previous year. According to an official statement, he is now striving to reduce stubble burning cases to zero active fire events.

The Chief Secretary stated that the state is becoming a centre for the country’s robust startup ecosystem and while Haryana is a small state geographically, it contributes 6.5 percent of overall GST revenue collected by the Union Government, “which speaks to the state’s economic success.”

The state government has provided both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for the state’s startup culture. With 65 percent of the population in the working age group of 15-59 years, the state possesses productive manpower.
