Horticulture crops covering around 6,400 hectares have been destroyed in Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh due to Godavari flood.  In many areas of the delta, banana fields are still submerged in floodwater.

However, because assessment is only being done in the areas where the floodwater has subsided, the assessment of the crop damage is still ongoing.

The flower nurseries, which span 484 hectares, have been devastated, according to Konaseema District Revenue Officer Ch. Sattibabu, who provided an update on the flood damage and relief efforts.

The Godavari flood has impacted as many as 16,344 ryots. For individuals who reported crop damage, 80 percent of the cost of various crops' seed will be covered, according to Mr. Sattibabu.

In the Konaseema district alone, the Godavari flood has affected 1.97 lakh people and forced the evacuation of almost 39,000 cattle.

On Sunday, Minister for Backward Welfare Ch. Venu Gopala Krishna said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would travel to the six islands in Konaseema district that were impacted by the Godavari flood on July 26.

In the P. Gannavaram mandal, the six island habitations of Burigi Lanka, G. Pedapudi Lanka, Arigelavaripeta, Udimudi Lanka, Baduva, and Vadrapalli were inspected on Sunday by Mr. Venu Gopala Krishna and Konaseema Collector Himanshu Shukla.

At the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram, where the inflow was below 10 lakh cusecs by Sunday evening, the first Godavari flood warning is still in effect.

An alert for flood has been issued to tribal communities along the Godavari's banks due to the river's steadily rising water level as a result of further rain events in Andhra Pradesh's catchments.

According to Water Resources Department officials, water levels in Godavari tributaries had also risen, and by Sunday evening, the flow from the Polavaram project was roughly 6.70 lakh cusecs.
