Most parts of the state have experienced winter rainfall over the past few days, while some areas also witnessed hailstorms that caused extensive damage to standing crops.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday directed officials to assess crop damage due to untimely rainfall and instructed district administrations to make all efforts to protect farmers from losses caused by unseasonal rainfall.

The MP CM assured that the state government firmly stands with farmers and that district administrations across the state must remain vigilant in view of untimely rains and ‘mawatha’.
He said that in the event of adverse weather conditions and untimely rains, the state government is fully committed to supporting farmers. District administrations have been directed to conduct surveys to assess crop damage caused by ‘mawatha’ and to remain alert in addressing farmers’ problems promptly.
