India - Rajasthan introduces ‘crop loss assessment’ through mobile APP

Now, the Rajasthan farmers themselves will be able to assess their crop loss due to inclement weather or any other natural causes through a mobile app while the government is contemplating on introducing a new pasture policy.

Replying to a debate on his department’s grant for the new fiscal year 2023-24 in the state legislative assembly late last night, Revenue Minister Ramlal Jat told the House that soon online Girdavari (crop assessment) will be started by the farmers themselves through mobile app.

With this innovation, farmers will be able to record crop loss due to natural calamity through the app and report it to the authorities, the Minister said.

The department has also issued a pasture policy in which a provision has been made to give lease of land up to 100 square meters, he announced.

Referring to the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ke Saath’ (administration with villages), Jat said, 92.82 lakh farmers were benefited, over 16 lakh accounts of peasants were rectified, 1.50 lakh accounts were settled, and 1292 revenue units and 1035 patwar mandals were opened.

He told the House that the state government has simplified various revenue rules keeping in mind the facilities of the farmers, due to which cases pending for years could be resolved quickly.

The revenue minister said despite being affected by the global pandemic Corona, 2 out of the last 4 years of the state government, Rajasthan Tried to make it a model state of the country.

According to the minister, the state government organised campaign camps at each gram panchayat headquarter along with administration villages. Pre, main and follow up camps were organized for the successful operation of the campaign

Common people participated in these camps with enthusiasm. About 92 lakh 82 thousand people benefited from these camps.

Besides, the Revenue Minister said that the state government has taken several important steps in the interest of the farmers while introducing new innovations and understanding the pain of the farmers and the poor, his department waived off the entire outstanding rent before the year 2018-19.

Along with this, exemption from conversion for setting up food processing unit by the department, provision for conversion for integrated township, exemption from conversion charge for social and charitable trust, permission for conversion for stadium, sports ground and sports complex, exemption from conversion for hydrocarbon exploration, exemption from conversion for biomass power plants on land, launch of land conversion portal were done, he said.

Along with this, the department has converted 381 tehsils out of 392 Online so that land records can be easily available. He informed that the time period for allotment of land for Gaushala has been increased from 20 years to 30 years.

The disposal time of applications received for allotment of government lands has also been fixed at 60 days. As per the minister the period for settlement of nomination cases by Patwari has been reduced from 7 days to 5 days.

Jat said that the department has improved revenue related works and processes by using modern techniques in initiatives like Digital India Land Record Modernization Program, Modern Record Room, Apna Khata Portal, Survey-Resurvey Program, Dhara Mobile App, Krishi Rin Rahaan Portal. The department has given appointments to 359 Naib Tehsildars and interviews of the remaining 111 are pending.
