A two-day National Seminar on “Infrastructure and Sustainable Technology Solutions: Transforming Agriculture, Markets, and Rural Livelihoods” under the banner of Vision Viksit Bharat@2047 was conducted at the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University (SAS, NU), Medziphema campus from February 14 to 15, 2025.

The seminar, held in hybrid mode, brought together academicians, experts, researchers, and students to discuss innovative solutions that were pivotal in transforming the agricultural landscape, improving market systems, and enhancing the livelihoods of rural communities across India.

The valedictory session was graced by N. Jacob Yanthan, Managing Director & CEO, Nagaland State Agricultural Produce & Livestock Marketing Board Chümoukedima.
Jacob in his speech highlighted how organic produce from Kiphire, Mon and other districts reach A.C market and goes to other parts of the country.

Noting that there was huge demand for organic kiwi, pineapple, persimmon, king chilli, ginger, Rajma (kholar beans) etc., but production was not able to meet the buyers demand, he called upon the stakeholders to help in connecting the growers and link their produce with the market.

He lamented the improper price mechanism in the state, prices varying from district to district. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepa Thangjam, organizing secretary.

During two days, five technical sessions were held under various themes and altogether 80 participants attended the seminar. According to NU PRO Peter Ki, the seminar commenced with the inaugural ceremony on February 14, with Dr. Girish Patil, director, ICAR-National Research Centre for Mithun, Nagaland as the chief guest.
