Insurance payments for grain fields in Azerbaijan grew by 63%

Last year, a total of 5.175 million manats of insurance compensations were paid to farmers and farms in Azerbaijan who suffered losses on wheat and barley acreage as a result of various accidents.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Agricultural Insurance Fund, that the figure is 2 million manats, or 63% more than in 2024. Payments on cotton fields amounted to 958,000 manats (72,000 manats, or 8% more than in 2024).

After cereals and cotton, the largest amounts of insurance payments were made for such crops as peach, corn, almonds, sunflower, tobacco, apple, pear, grapes and apricot.

In addition, in 2025, a total of 9.2 million manats of insurance compensations were paid to farmers and farms affected by various accidents in Azerbaijan (44% more than in 2024, and 2.1-fold more than in 2023).

The Agrarian Insurance Fund made insurance payments for 4.4 million manats in 2023 and for 6.4 million manats in 2024.

Last year, 8.8 million manats of insurance compensations were paid to farmers and farms for incidents that occurred on cultivated areas (70% more than in 2024 and 2.5-fold more than in 2023).

Last year, the Agricultural Insurance Fund also paid 394,000 manats for losses incurred in livestock farms.

In 2025, insurance payments were made for 26 of the 41 types of agricultural crops insured by the Fund.
