Thirty-three farmers in Puerto Princesa City received a total of PHP 196,996.70 in insurance claims from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) for losses caused by Typhoon Tino.
“This assistance aims to help farmers recover and restart their livelihoods,” PCIC said in a statement.
The agency reminded farmers to enroll their crops in the insurance program, noting, “Crop insurance is an important protection against damages caused by natural disasters.”
PCIC added that regular enrollment ensures farmers are better prepared and financially supported when calamities strike.
