Local weather officials are advising residents along the Wasatch Back to protect vulnerable plants and crops as a cold front moves in Monday.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City says the cold front will bring unseasonably cold and freezing temperatures Monday night into Tuesday.

Temperatures at or below 32 degrees are expected across the Wasatch Back, including Park City, Huntsville and Heber City, according to the NWS.

“Patchy frost is possible for the Cache, Rush, and Sanpete valleys,” the NWS advisory says. “Take action now to avoid crop loss.”
