North Dakota farmers facing crop or livestock losses are encouraged to contact local FSA offices to apply for disaster aid before the March 1, 2026, deadline.
Following recent severe weather, North Dakota's Farm Service Agency is encouraging farmers to contact their local offices to see what federal assistance programs may be available.
Whether dealing with livestock losses, hay bales destroyed by strong winds, or costly crop damage, the state’s Conservation and Livestock Program Director says help is available.
Beau Peterson, conservation and livestock program director, is urging farmers to reach out to their county’s FSA office to find out what programs they may qualify for.
“If there's something that we're not covering through any of our disaster assistance that's available, that's where you can reach out — you can start it with myself or with your representatives to get that idea out there and see if there's anything that we can do to try to make sure that we keep farmers farming,” Peterson said.
Farmers have until March 1, 2026, to report losses and file for livestock assistance programs.
