The state budget for 2026 allocates ₴60M ($1.43M) for agricultural insurance assistance, the first time that this support has been offered.
The state initiative aims to help farmers cover a portion of their insurance premiums: up to 60% for those working in frontline communities and up to 45% for other farmers.
To insure their crops, agricultural producers must contact insurance companies authorized to provide this coverage in agreement with the National Bank of Ukraine. Currently, there are two authorized insurance companies, INGO and Universalna, with plans to expand the list.
“Given the critical importance of the agricultural sector – especially for frontline regions and drought-affected areas – the government is launching a state support program for agricultural insurance for the first time. In the new year, this will be a key tool to address climate change challenges and reduce risks for farmers”, emphasized Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev.
