The damage sustained by the agriculture sector from Typhoon Nona has reached P732,590,509 as of Thursday, according to the Department of Agriculture.
"A total of 20,309 hectares of agricultural areas, with an estimated production loss of 35,533 metric tons, were affected in Regions IV-A, IV-B, V and VIII," Agriculture Undersecretary Emerson U. Palad and Assistant Secretary Edilberto M. De Luna noted in an assessment report.
"The affected commodities are rice, corn, cassava, other high value crops, livestock and fisheries," the Agriculuture officials said.
The report was submitted to Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala.
