The coastal towns of Spain are hoping for an improvement in the weather as Easter Week approaches, but for the time being the start of spring continues to be marked by low temperatures, high winds and rain.
In Almería the rain was especially heavy over Friday and the weekend, causing problems for farmers and agriculturalists due to mudslides and flooding, and many agriculturalists once again suffered the loss of the greenhouses in which tomatoes and vegetables are grown due to the combination of rain and high winds, according to farmers’ union COAG.
The same agriculturalists suffered similar problems during the previous bout of stormy weather when heavy hail flattened many greenhouses due to the sheer weight of accumulated hailstones.
