This Monday, several Moldovan regions were hit by low temperatures, heavy rain and hail. In Calarasi, even light snows were registered.

Five districts in the centre of the country were affected by frost. In some areas, the air temperature dropped to minus 3 degrees Celsius.

These were the minimum temperatures registered in some areas:- Stefan Voda - 3 °C- Tiraspol -2 °C- Chisinau -1 °C- Calarasi -1 °C- Ungheni -1 °C

According to local producers, if such bad weather conditions persist, the harvest for some fruits and vegetables could be compromised.

Meteorologists said the weather would be determined by the influence of an area of low air pressure, which will result in cloudy skies and further rainfall.
