The OPA reported on Monday the crop damage reaching P3.8 million, affecting the cities of San Carlos, Cadiz and Bago, and the town of Moises Padilla.
From 713 farmers affected shown in OPA’s initial report, the number rose to 761 – with almost 800 hectares of rice fields damaged.
San Carlos City still has the biggest loss pegged at P2.1 million, with 646 farmers and 680 hectares of rice fields affected.
Cadiz City followed with P1.474-million damage, affecting 55 farmers and 54 hectares of rice fields.
Bago City , dubbed as the “rice granary” of Negros Occidental, incurred a total loss of P1.264 million, with 57 farmers and 64 hectares of rice fields affected.
On Monday, OPA pegged Bago’s crop damage at only P192,240.
In Moises Padilla, three farmers and their 10.68-hectare rice field were affected, with a total crop loss of P24,299.
