According to the June 14 USDA Crop Report, majority of crops across the state experience a drop in condition levels, while maintaining growth ahead of last year's data. Corn The USDA reports corn planted across the state to be 98% emerged, a 3% percent increase from last weeks data, and 11% farther along from 2019 emergent numbers. Of corn reported to be emerged, crop condition levels have dropped in relation to June 7 USDA data, 54% of corn in the state falls in the good condition category, 17% in excellent, 26% fair, 2% poor and 1% very poor. Soybeans As of June 14, the USDA reports 100% of soybeans in the state to be planted 12% further along than last years data. According to USDA data 94% of the soybean crop has emerged, up 25% from last year data which placed emergent numbers to be at 68% on June 14, 2019. Of soybeans planted and emerged, crop condition values vary compared to last weeks data. The USDA reports 65% of soybeans to fall into the good condition category, 19% fair, 17% excellent, 1% poor and 1% very poor. Sorghum According to the USDA, 97% of sorghum has been planted in the state, a positive increase by 24% from last years planting progress. Of sorghum planted 1% of the crops have headed, 1% of 2019 data. In terms of crop condition, the USDA reports a significant decrease in sorghum crop condition compared to last weeks crop report data, 51% of crops fall into good condition categorization, 44% in fair , 4% in excellent and 1% in poor. Winter Wheat Ahead of last years percent of crops headed, the USDA reports 85% of wheat headed, 6% ahead of last years winter wheat progress. As of June 14, the USDA shows winter wheat harvest has not began in the state, but crop condition going into this years harvest looks promising. According the June 14 crop report 45% of Winter Wheat is considered to be in fair condition, 38% in good condition, 9% in poor condition, 5% in excellent condition and 3% in very poor condition. Oats Of oats planted in the state, the USDA reports 98% of the crop to be emerged, 5% ahead of last years data, with 69% of oats to be headed, 31% further along than 2019 data and 32% further along than last weeks crop report. The USDA reports, 50% of oats across the state to be in good condition, 29% in fair condition, 15% in poor condition, 5% in excellent condition and 1% in very poor condition. Pasture and Range The June 14 USDA crop report displays a variety of change in pasture and range condition across the state, with 59% in good condition, 24% in fair condition, 7% in excellent condition, 6% in poor condition and 4% in very poor condition. Moisture Condition As of June 14, the USDA reports 60% of topsoil to have adequate moisture levels, 26% with short moisture levels, 12% very short moisture levels and 2% in a moisture surplus.
