Bindwell, an AI-driven agricultural science startup founded by teenage entrepreneurs Tyler Roseand Navvye Anand, has secured $6 million in seed funding co-led by General Catalyst and A Capital, with additional investment from Paul Graham.
The company is applying advanced AI techniques traditionally used in drug discovery to design next-generation pesticide molecules for global crop protection.
Founded in 2024, Bindwell develops its own molecular discovery models to identify novel, targeted compounds that address rising pest resistance and reduce reliance on aging chemical portfolios.
Its proprietary suite — including structure prediction, protein-ligand modeling, and uncertainty quantification systems — enables rapid screening across billions of molecules and significantly accelerates discovery timelines.
Rather than selling AI tools to agrochemical incumbents, Bindwell is generating its own IP and plans to license new pesticide molecules directly.
The company is currently validating its candidates in laboratory testing and preparing partnership agreements and field trials across major agricultural markets.
